Alternatively, if you’ve come to Byron without your surfboard but the surf is pumping, go to Byron Mobile Board Hire. They have a large selection of boards for hire and they will deliver and pick up from the resort or beach of your choice. They know all of the local surf breaks and will happily give you a rundown of the surf conditions on the day.


Julian Rocks is world famous for its marine life. Warm and cold water currents meet here resulting in a spectacular mix of tropical and cold water fish creating one of the most abundant fish dives in the world. See big sharks and rays, large schools of pelagics, turtles as well as nudibranchs and a lot of smaller marine life.

Sundive Byron Bay offer snorkeling, introductory dives, dives for certified divers and dive courses. They do limit the amount of launches per day, so be sure to book early.
